A quarterly newsletter for our Medicare supplement policyholders
I hope this finds you and your loved ones in good health. This quarter's e-News focuses on ways to help you stay as healthy as you can in the face of adversity.
Before we begin, there are a couple things I want to share. First, know that here at Mutual of Omaha, our commitment to serving the needs of our customers has never been stronger. That will never change.
To see that commitment in action, visit our Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information Page for Customers. There you can get the most up-to-date information about how Mutual of Omaha is responding to the coronavirus pandemic. We'll update it as there are changes, so check back often.
During uncertain times, it's reassuring to have things you can count on. Count Mutual of Omaha as one. We're here for you and will continue to be.
Thank you for putting your trust in us.
Stay safe, Dr. Manoj Pawar Chief Medical Officer
Be on the lookout for COVID-19 scams
It's unfortunate that there are people who try to take advantage of others. So you can protect yourself from the bad apples, we're sharing some recommendations the Federal Trade Commission has compiled about COVID-19 scams.
In response to the pandemic, Medicare temporarily has expanded its coverage of telehealth services for things such as evaluation and management visits, mental health counseling and preventive health screenings. Best of all, they're now available wherever you live.
With nearly one million active podcasts available, there's no shortage of options. But how do you get from one million to one? Start by checking out this article by Seniors Matter that whittles 1,000,000 down to a more manageable 15.
Explanation of Benefits (EOB) now mailed quarterly
We've updated our Medicare supplement EOB mailing cycle so that you'll get fewer mailings. But if you'd rather go green, sign up for paperless delivery on Customer Access. Better yet, EOBs are available within two days of your claim being processed ... so no waiting!
To help pass the days, some people are using this time to either learn new skills, or to improve other interests they have. So if enjoying a delicious meal - or dessert - is your thing, USA Today has compiled 10 (mostly free) online cooking classes you can take to help sharpen your cooking skills.
Stay connected
While we may be practicing social distancing, that doesn't mean we're not supposed to socialize. If you're looking for simple ways to practice daily self-care and stay connected, check out this recent article from Good Morning America.
