New Jersey Family Leave Insurance (FLI)  

New Jersey FLI allows for leave to care for children, spouse, parents, parents-in-law, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren, domestic partners, one partner in a civil union couple, any other person related by blood or any person with whom an employee shows to have the equivalent of a family relationship. It also allows for leave to cover victims of domestic or sexual violence and for bonding with a biological, foster or adopted child.

New Jersey Temporary Disability Benefits (TDB)  

TDB provides for paid leave for employees who cannot work due to illness, injury or disability not related to their job.

New Jersey Benefits Overview  

  • An employee receives 12 weeks of leave under FLI
  • An employee receives 85% of their average weekly wage up to a maximum of $1,055 per week
  • An employee may receive up to 26 weeks leave under TDB

A private plan is allowed under the law.
