Sommerfeld Promoted at Mutual of Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (April 25, 2023) – Jason Sommerfeld has been promoted to Vice President of Claims in Workplace Solutions at Mutual of Omaha. He provides leadership, direction and management for claims shared services and claims operations across multiple functions. Sommerfeld facilitates continuous improvement into processes and technology ensuring alignment to strategic goals, the customer and compliance.   

Sommerfeld joined Mutual in 2011 as a short-term disability claims analyst. He was promoted to appeals specialist in 2013, supervisor of claims in 2014, manager of claims in 2017 and director of claims in 2020. Before Mutual, Sommerfeld was a manager of customer service at the West Corporation.    

Sommerfeld earned a bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University.
