The Life Insurance Solutions (LIS) team at Mutual of Omaha is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead complex operational initiatives that modernize how we work. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through system optimization, process improvement, and change leadership—helping teams adopt scalable, efficient, and technology-enabled ways of working. 

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $99,000-$110,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead high-impact operational initiatives based on team capacity and staffing needs to advance key business priorities. 
  • Drive system optimization and team-wide efficiency improvements by simplifying processes and improving workflows. 
  • Partner with leadership to support and advance department-level operational workstreams and process improvements. 
  • Own and lead cross-functional Operational Excellence (OpX) initiatives that enhance systems, tools, and ways of working. 
  • Champion a test-and-learn approach by developing frameworks, tracking impact, and mentoring teams in data-driven, iterative practices.  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 5–10 years of project or program management experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives. 
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects or programs. 
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to influence across levels. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly in evolving business environments and adopt new tools, systems, or ways of working. 
  • Strong change-management capabilities, including mentoring, coaching, and guiding teams through process and behavior shifts. 
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work at our home office located in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment. 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience using enterprise project management tools, including Workfront. 
  • Proficiency working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid models). 
  • Experience supporting or leading change from waterfall to Agile ways of working
  • P.M.P. (Project Management Professional).
