Every associate goes through an immersive, inspiring two-day culture workshop called Mutually Connected. And when we say every associate, we mean everyone including the CEO and senior leaders. Associates leave armed with practical tools to help live out our values on a daily basis.

Mutual is home to nine Employee Resource Groups, consisting of associates who have joined together around shared characteristics or life experiences. Each group focuses on creating awareness and programming to improve the diversity, equity, and inclusiveness of our workforce, workplace and business.

Volunteerism & Community Affairs
Our company was founded on the principle of helping people in their time of need. Today, that principle is further applied through our charitable involvement in the community. Here are some of our charitable projects:
Over 1,200 associates participated in this program in 2019, volunteering for organizations like the Food Bank of the Heartland, Habitat for Humanity and Good 360.
This program doubles the contributions our associates make to nonprofit organizations. The Foundation will match approved contributions up to $1,000 per associate, per year.
We proudly support more than 25 arts organizations in their work. We also provide associates with discounted tickets to various cultural events and subsidized memberships.
This nonprofit organization provides monetary assistance to employees during times of crisis or financial need. In 2019, the Fund provided assistance to 108 associates.
Since its creation in 2005, the Foundation has approved over $50 million in grants to nonprofits in the Omaha metropolitan area.
