Why do tigers have stripes?

Tigers need their stripes for camouflage. But since the only real threat to tigers are humans, they aren’t hiding from predators – they’re hiding from prey. The animals they hunt don’t see color differences the way we do, so their stripes actually help them blend into their natural habitats of grasslands and rain forests.
