Join our HR Health Services team and play a hands-on role in administering employee leave and leave-related benefits from start to finish. As the primary point of contact, you'll guide employees and managers through the leave process, manage eligibility, documentation, and benefit coordination, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company requirements.

You'll actively administer leave programs, oversee benefit changes, collaborate with internal and external partners, and provide exceptional support from the initial leave request through an employee's return to work. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with strong leave administration experience who enjoys balancing compliance, problem-solving, and employee service.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU: 

  • Estimated Pay(Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications) [multiple levels]: 
    • HR Specialist (Non Exempt): $28.75 - $36.63 plus annual bonus opportunity
    • SR HR Specialist (Exempt): 75,500 - 95,000, plus annual bonus opportunity

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Administer employee leave programs, including sick leave, accident leave, short- and long-term disability, FMLA, personal, military, jury duty, and bereavement leave, ensuring compliance with company policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Review and process leave requests by verifying documentation, determining eligibility, issuing required notices and forms, and maintaining accurate leave records and return-to-work timelines.
  • Partner with managers and employees to coordinate return-to-work plans, modified schedules, and reasonable accommodations while serving as the primary point of contact for leave-related questions.
  • Coordinate leave-related benefits, including disability, health, and retirement plans, ensuring accurate payroll deductions, benefit adjustments, and collaboration with HR, payroll, legal, and third-party vendors.
  • Monitor changes to leave laws and regulations, prepare reports and analyze leave trends, and recommend process improvements to enhance compliance, efficiency, and the employee experience.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PWFA, disability benefits, and multi-state leave regulations.
  • Experience utilizing an HRIS and working with leave management vendors.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle confidential employee matters professionally.
  • Proven ability to interpret policies, exercise sound judgment, and resolve complex employee situations.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment with shifting priorities.
  • You promote a collaborative culture, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work at our office located in Omaha, NE in a hybrid environment.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience working with Workday 
  • Leave & Absence Management or Stay-at-Work/Return-to-Work Certifications preferred
