Join our Health & Annuities Solutions team as a Manager (Annuities), Individual Underwriting, where you’ll play a critical role in helping us achieve ambitious product growth and revenue goals in support of our 8×8 strategy. You’ll lead a team focused on annuity new business and underwriting operations, process improvement, and service excellence—ensuring we deliver scalable, high-quality underwriting capabilities that enable growth across our annuity portfolio and distribution partners. This role is ideal for a collaborative leader with strong underwriting expertise who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is energized by driving results.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $112,000 - $151,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead and develop an Individual Underwriting team supporting annuity business operations, including workload management, coaching, performance management, and staffing.  
  • Drive operational excellence by improving underwriting processes, workflows, and service delivery to enhance customer and partner experiences.  
  • Exercise independent decision-making authority on annuity transactions, considering customer outcomes, company value, and applicable financial and regulatory implications. 
  • Works in close partnership with Annuity product and sales leaders to drive the development, design, and execution of critical annuity initiatives. 
  • Lead and support change management efforts, new initiatives, and process implementations across the underwriting organization.  
  • Monitor team performance, establish goals and action plans, and ensure alignment with department objectives and business priorities.  
  • Foster a high-performing, engaged team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Leadership experience managing underwriting or insurance operations teams.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound business decisions. Ability to lead independently.   
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.  
  • Experience leading change, process improvement, and operational initiatives.  
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, resources, and team performance effectively.  
  • Proficiency with business technology tools including spreadsheets, presentations, and reporting systems.
  • You promote a collaborative culture, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
  • Able to travel occasionally (approximately 10% annually) to attend in-person meetings (travel reimbursed).

PREFERRED:

  • Experience supporting annuity products and annuity underwriting operations strongly preferred.  
  • Knowledge of insurance industry trends, underwriting practices, and competitive products.  
  • Bachelor’s degree, insurance designation, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
