Join our Health & Annuities Solutions team as a Supervisor, Individual New Business & Underwriting, supporting our Supplemental Health products. In this role, you’ll lead daily operations for an underwriting team, balancing workflow management, quality, and capacity while delivering a strong customer experience. You’ll drive operational excellence, continuous process improvement, underwriting performance, and team development. 

While this position may be performed remotely, candidates located within a reasonable driving distance of our home office in Omaha, NE may be asked to work onsite occasionally (1–2 days per week). Omaha-area candidates are preferred but not required.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $75,500 - $97,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead, coach, and develop an underwriting team by assigning work, monitoring performance, and supporting employee growth and engagement.  
  • Support Supplemental Health operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and service excellence.  
  • Provides hands‑on operational support, including invoice management and account reconciliation, and flexes to support other supervisors across Health & Annuity Underwriting teams to ensure continuity and capacity when applicable.  
  • Promote a continuous improvement mindset and help implement process enhancements that improve customer experience and operational effectiveness.  
  • Manage workflow, production, and staffing priorities to ensure service expectations and business goals are achieved.  
  • Partner with internal teams, sales partners, brokers, and other stakeholders to resolve escalations and support business objectives.  
  • Serve as a subject matter resource for underwriting processes, systems, and regulatory requirements.  
  • Support change management initiatives and help teams adapt successfully to evolving business needs.  

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and relationship-building skills.  
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.  
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.  
  • Experience managing priorities, workflows, and team performance.  
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.  
  • Proficiency with business software applications including spreadsheets, email, and word processing tools.
  • You promote a collaborative culture, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico. 

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in the insurance industry, ideally within underwriting operations.  
  • Knowledge of Long Term Care (LTC), Supplemental Health, or related insurance products.  
  • Previous supervisory, team lead, or people leadership experience.
