Mutual of Omaha is seeking a skilled Actuary to join our Health & Annuities Solutions team. This role will focus on developing and executing LTC rate increases, ensuring Health product profitability, and driving innovation in data analysis. We’re looking for a data-driven leader with deep expertise in LTC insurance who can help shape our approach to meeting evolving market needs.

We welcome candidates with an ASA designation who are interested in building a long-term actuarial career without pursuing additional credentialing, as well as Actuaries with an FSA designation, ideally early in their fellowship.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):
    • Career Actuarial Associate (ASA): $106,000 - $135,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Actuary (FSA): $139,000 - $177,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • LTC Rate Management: Execute on LTC rate increase strategies, analyzing data dependencies to guide effective, sustainable decisions. Lead long and short-term experience studies to monitor rate effectiveness and make data-backed recommendations.
  • Regulatory & Compliance: Prepare actuarial memos for state filings, ensuring compliance with state regulations and keeping current with legislative changes affecting LTC products.
  • Financial Analysis & Projection: Conduct detailed projections and impact assessments for existing products. Partner with senior leadership to provide insight into trends and potential financial impacts, aligning with corporate growth and profit goals.
  • Assumption Development: Assist with assumption development by managing and reviewing financial analyses, rate development, and product differences.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Lead improvements to actuarial models, leveraging data to enhance re-rating and forecasting. Utilize advanced analytics to assess product trends, identify risk, and improve financial outcomes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • ASA or FSA Designation: Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries with comprehensive actuarial expertise, specifically within LTC insurance.
  • Long-Term Care Expertise: Demonstrated, substantial experience in executing long-term care rate strategies, including overseeing rate increases, conducting experience studies, and making data-driven recommendations for sustainable outcomes.
  • Data Proficiency: Advanced skills in data analysis, statistical modeling, and financial projection; proficient in data tools used for actuarial and financial modeling.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven experience in fostering a collaborative environment, leading teams, or mentoring actuarial students to encourage development and adherence to actuarial standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to tackle complex actuarial problems with practical, data-informed solutions that align with business objectives.

  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
