We’re seeking a technical Business Systems Consultant to support our Life Insurance Solutions team as we modernize systems and migrate data to newer platforms. This role focuses heavily on data analysis, SQL-based investigation, production support, and partnering across teams to deliver reliable system solutions. This position may be filled at the I, II, or III level based on experience.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary (Levels have variable responsibilities and qualifications):
    • Business Systems Consultant I:  $75,500 - $97,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Business Systems Consultant II: $86,000 - $114,00, plus annual bonus opportunity.
    • Business Systems Consultant III:  $99,000 - $133,500, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Work-life balance with vacation, personal time and paid holidays. See our benefits and perks page for details.
  • Applicants for this position must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Partner with business and technical teams to gather, document, and refine requirements for system enhancements and modernization efforts. You’ll help translate business needs into clear technical workflows and solutions.
  • Use SQL to investigate production support issues, validate data, and identify root causes. Document findings clearly and provide detailed handoffs to development teams when escalation is needed.
  • Support testing and data validation efforts by writing and executing test scenarios, verifying results, and ensuring system changes function as expected across environments (DEV, CAT, PROD).
  • Analyze current data flows and system processes, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and recommend improvements that strengthen data reliability and reporting accuracy.
  • Serve as a key bridge between technical and business teams during system modernization and data migration initiatives, helping ensure successful delivery and adoption of new solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Intermediate or higher SQL skills, including the ability to write, troubleshoot, and modify complex queries to support analysis, reporting, and production issue investigation.
  • Experience working with relational databases, including querying large datasets and validating data accuracy. Familiarity with platforms such as Teradata or DB2 is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to independently investigate production support issues, analyze data results, and distinguish between true system issues, reporting problems, timing delays, and expected behavior.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements, supporting testing efforts, and working across multiple system environments.
  • Strong analytical mindset with natural curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience supporting data migration or modernization initiatives, including movement of data to cloud platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Familiarity with Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) or similar ETL/data integration tools.
  • Background in insurance, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
