We are seeking a Senior Architect to serve as the Enterprise Architecture Practice Lead. This role provides architectural leadership across the EA practice, ensuring enterprise‑level coherence, clear priorities, and high‑quality outcomes. The role operates in a highly regulated environment, balancing innovation and delivery speed with risk and regulatory expectations.

Rather than owning a single business or technology domain, this role partners with Senior Architects across domains, acting as a peer leader and integrator. The Practice Lead bridges enterprise‑level architectural concerns with the EA support team, helping ensure architecture operates as a trusted, decision‑enabling service for senior technology and business leaders.

This role plays a key part in aligning platforms, standards, and governance across cloud, data, integration, security, and AI‑enabled and agentic capabilities, treating intelligent systems as a natural evolution of enterprise architecture—not a separate specialty.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

  • Estimated Salary: $158,000 - $235,000, plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
  • Work-life balance with vacation, personal time and paid holidays. See our benefits and perks page for details.
  • Applicants for this position must not now, nor at any point in the future, require sponsorship for employment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Architectural Direction and Priority Setting

  • Partner with Senior Architects to identify enterprise‑level architectural priorities and translate them into a coherent EA work plan.
  • Balance near‑term delivery needs with long‑term architectural integrity, including readiness for AI‑enabled and automated capabilities.
  • Help focus the EA practice on the architectural decisions that matter most to enterprise outcomes.

Enterprise Coherence and Cross‑Domain Integration

  • Own the cross‑domain architectural view across vertical business lines and horizontal domains such as Customer Service, Enterprise Services, Data, Security, and Technology.
  • Identify and resolve architectural conflicts and gaps that are not visible within a single domain.
  • Ensure enterprise architectures remain cohesive as platforms evolve and AI‑driven capabilities are introduced across multiple areas.

Standards, Patterns, and Governance

  • Establish and evolve pragmatic architecture standards, patterns, and reference architectures that are authoritative, usable, and outcome‑focused.
  • Ensure architecture governance is lightweight, value‑adding, and trusted, supporting regulatory, risk, and audit expectations without slowing delivery.
  • Promote consistent use of architectural principles while allowing flexibility where business value warrants it.

Technology Strategy Alignment

  • Ensure coherence across major enterprise platforms, including cloud, data, service platforms, and AI or agentic orchestration layers, with appropriate controls, transparency, and resiliency expected in a regulated industry.
  • Critically evaluate emerging technologies and vendor claims, separating signal from noise.
  • Help Senior Architects and leaders understand architectural implications, tradeoffs, and long‑term impacts of platform decisions.

EA Team Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the EA support team, setting expectations for quality, rigor, and professionalism.
  • Define what “good” looks like for EA deliverables, artifacts, and advisory services.
  • Ensure the EA support team operates as a service to Senior Architects, enabling rather than constraining architectural leadership.

Executive Translation and Decision Support

  • Communicate architectural decisions, risks, and tradeoffs in clear business terms, including regulatory and risk implications, enabling informed executive decision‑making.
  • Enable informed decision‑making by translating complex architectural topics—including AI, automation, and platform dependencies—into understandable impacts.
  • Support enterprise leadership with a consistent architectural narrative.

Domain Model Stewardship

  • Own and evolve the enterprise domain model, ensuring it reflects reality and is actively used as a decision‑making tool.
  • Ensure the domain model supports portfolio decisions, platform alignment, and cross‑domain architectural reasoning.
  • Promote shared understanding of enterprise structure across architects, leaders, and delivery teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise or senior solution architecture, including enterprise‑level influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide architectural leadership across multiple domains, not just within a single area.
  • Strong understanding of modern enterprise architectures, including cloud, data, integration, security, and AI‑enabled systems.
  • Experience establishing standards, guiding governance, and influencing architectural decision‑making at scale.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to senior and executive audiences.
  • You promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, value different ideas and opinions, and listen courageously, remaining curious in all that you do.
  • Ability to work at our home office located in Omaha, Nebraska, in a hybrid environment.

PREFERRED:

  • Prior experience in an Architect IV / A4‑level role or equivalent senior architecture position.
  • Experience mentoring architects and leading architectural practices or centers of excellence.
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled platforms, intelligent automation, or agentic solution patterns in an enterprise context.
  • Strong facilitation, influence, and systems‑thinking skills.
