Mutual of Omaha Company has an immediate full-time opening in our Statutory Reporting and Analysis department for an experienced, self-motivated, and results-oriented accountant responsible for the accurate preparation of the statutory basis financial statements and other regulatory reporting requirements for one or more of our companies. This position will actively participate in an environment that embraces change and innovation, learning, and interactive feedback while adhering to finance policies, procedures and internal controls.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Prepare of the statutory basis financial statements and other regulatory reporting requirements for one or more of our companies.
- Recommends actions to management throughout the enterprise, identifies trends, risks, and indicators through analysis of financial and nonfinancial data.
- Constantly looking for ways to improve and make processes more efficient.
- Seeks out projects and takes leadership role with increasing frequency.
- Leads and documents key processes, decisions and insights to business partners.
- Understand business products and strategy.
- Contributes and executes on ideas to improve business processes and knowledge in the workplace.

ABOUT YOU:
- Ability to establish and execute against deadlines.

- Intermediate understanding of insurance products.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including excellent Excel skills.
- Understanding of NAIC statutory accounting principles (SAP).
- 4-6+ years of professional experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, regulatory environment, etc.
- Department of Insurance/Insurance Regulator experience.
- Self-driven with demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity, influence change with peers, management, and business partners.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with minimal supervision.

- You are able to work remotely and have access to high-speed internet.

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in insurance industry.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience in accounting related field.
- Understanding of NAIC statutory accounting principles.
- Experience with SOVOS annual statement software, Wdesk, Essbase, and Peoplesoft.
- CPA, CMA or equivalent a plus.

- Regular associates working 40 hours a week can earn up to 15 days of vacation each year

- Salary Range: $72,000-$92,760
