Wild Kingdom history

Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom set the gold standard for wildlife programming, bringing the public into animals’ natural habitats for the first time. Hosted by Marlin Perkins and Jim Fowler, the series premiered in 1963 on NBC and revealed the shared link of protection between the human and animal kingdoms. Today, Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom Protecting the Wild continues that legacy by highlighting global wildlife conservation efforts and stories of hope.
