After a strenuous trek through the Costa Rican rainforest, our co-hosts enter a remote field station to get ready for a moonlit beach stakeout — watching how jaguars prey on nesting sea turtles.
Tapirs in Costa Rica and at the Houston Zoo
Meet the tapir, an ancient animal related to rhinos and horses. Dr. Rae travels to Costa Rica’s Tapir Valley to see the animal in the wild, then Peter heads to the Houston Zoo to meet a young tapir.

Peter is joined by guest host and NBC meteorologist Dylan Dreyer. Together, they explore Alaska’s wilderness in search of grizzly bears.

In Puerto Rico’s jungle, Dr. Rae and Peter enter a cave “dripping with snakes” and later visit a coral restoration lab.
