Training Requirements for Annuity Producers

To strengthen consumer protections against inappropriate and abusive annuity marketing practices, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners have set mandatory training requirements for annuity producers.

The training must be completed before a producer solicits the sale of an annuity product. The training requirements include:

Producer Agreement

Please use this information when appointing new producers and/or firms (all states):

  • A one-time minimum 4 credit hour general annuity training course approved by the state department of insurance
  • Specific United of Omaha annuity product training

In compliance with this regulation, we will not process applications for annuity business submitted by producers who haven't completed the training requirements. A certificate must be submitted confirming that the course was completed.
