Mutual of Omaha Expands Financial Planning to Include Home Equity Analysis

OMAHA, Neb. (Oct. 12, 2020) – Mutual of Omaha has introduced a new, innovative approach to further support customers in their financial planning efforts. In collaboration with Advisys Inc., Mutual of Omaha’s needs analysis software – Navigator – now allows financial advisors to capture important information about a customer’s home, enabling them to offer even more comprehensive advice.

“Industrywide, a person’s home is frequently overlooked in the financial planning process, despite the fact that it’s often their most valuable asset,” said Shelley Giordano, Director of Enterprise Integration with Mutual of Omaha Mortgage. “This new software capability allows Mutual of Omaha advisors to conduct more meaningful conversations with customers to determine whether their home could help them achieve their financial goals throughout various life stages.”

By discussing a customer’s home mortgage and equity situation, advisors are able to offer guidance on whether their home should be considered among planning topics such as survivor needs, income protection, college funding, retirement planning and other common scenarios.

If customers do have a need for mortgage services, they have convenient access to Mutual of Omaha Mortgage’s large network of loan officers to discuss options available, including refinancing, reverse mortgages and forward mortgages.

“Mutual of Omaha advisors are taking a pioneering approach in evaluating customers’ homes as part of the financial planning process,” said Mark Zagurski, Director of Advisor Development. “We are so pleased to be able to offer this all-inclusive analysis to our customers.”
