Lewis and Waggoner Promoted at Mutual of Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (Aug. 6, 2020) – Susan Lewis and Tim Waggoner have been promoted to Senior Associate General Counsel at Mutual of Omaha.

Lewis provides legal counsel to Human Resources. She handles employment litigation, discrimination charges, and labor and employment issues including ADA, FMLA, FCRA, wage and hour, performance, recruitment, termination, paid leave and privacy.

Waggoner provides legal counsel to Income & Wealth Planning Solutions, Departing Well and Senior Health Solutions. He handles insurance regulatory, operational, and sales and marketing issues for individual financial service products.

Lewis joined Mutual of Omaha as a paralegal in 1996. During her tenure, she served as a paralegal and senior paralegal. After working at an Omaha law firm and Lincoln Financial, Lewis returned to Mutual of Omaha as assistant general counsel in 2006. She was promoted to associate general counsel in 2016.

Lewis received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and her law degree from Creighton University. She is a board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands.

Waggoner joined Mutual of Omaha as an assistant general counsel in 2013. He was promoted to associate general counsel in 2017. Before joining Mutual of Omaha, Waggoner was an associate attorney at Brown & Wolff, P.C., legal counsel at Capstone Technologies, and general counsel and privacy officer at Midlands Choice.

Waggoner received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He has a law degree from Creighton University and an MBA from Baker College. Waggoner is a board member of the Mid-America Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
