Bombassi, Brown, Lewis Promoted at Mutual of Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (April 21, 2020) – Tony Bombassi, Kathy Brown and Kevin Lewis have been promoted at Mutual of Omaha.

Bombassi has been promoted to Vice President of Claims in Workplace Solutions at Mutual of Omaha. He leads the National Accounts and Core Market LTD Accounts teams for the East Region along with the Professional Marketplace Team. Bombassi shares site management of the Chattanooga office with Vice President of Claims Kevin Lewis.

Bombassi joined Mutual of Omaha in 2017 as a director of claims. In that role, he enhanced relationships with field partners and the broker community through training sessions and enhanced finalist presentations. Bombassi also helped develop the Claims Internship Program.

Bombassi has 29 years of professional claims experience. Before joining Mutual of Omaha, he was a director at Cigna Healthcare and an associate vice president at Unum.

Bombassi received a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern State University. He earned a master’s degree from North Texas University and is pursuing a master’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Brown has been promoted to Vice President of Claims in Workplace Solutions at Mutual of Omaha. She leads the Claims Shared Services organization, which includes Appeals, Quality Assurance, Compliance, Medical Records, Clinical and Vocational, Business Systems, Claims Customer Service and Administrative teams.

Brown joined Mutual of Omaha in February 1977. During her tenure, she has held several leadership positions responsible for developing and implementing innovative system technology to enable the business to achieve strategic initiatives. Most recently, she developed a Clinical and Shared Services team that serves as ancillary specialists to Claims and other business partners.

Brown volunteers at the United Way of the Midlands and the Open Door Mission.

Lewis has been promoted to Vice President of Claims in Workplace Solutions at Mutual of Omaha. He leads the National Accounts and Core Market LTD Accounts teams for the Central and West Regions and the Claim Consultant Unit. Lewis shares site management of the Chattanooga office with Vice President of Claims Tony Bombassi.

Lewis joined Mutual of Omaha in 2017 as a director of national accounts. In that role, he enhanced relationships with field partners and the broker community through training sessions and enhanced finalist presentations.

Lewis has more than 20 years of experience in insurance claims and underwriting. Before joining Mutual of Omaha, he held various positions at Unum.

Lewis earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He holds an Executive Leadership Certificate from Vanderbilt University.
