As the world's premier backstroker, Aaron Peirsol has not lost a 200-meter backstroke race since the 2000 Olympic Games. And just to emphasize his global dominance in this event, he regularly breaks his own world-record times:

2002 National Championships: 1:55.15
2004 Olympic Trials: 1:54.74
2005 World Championships: 1:54.66
2006 Mutual of Omaha Pan Pacific Championships: 1:54.44

He also holds the 100-meter world record at 53.17.

Out of the pool, Aaron enjoys watching his younger sister Haley swim, photography and working with organizations dedicated to protecting the planet's oceans.
