The primary source for the clinical review criteria and decision support rules used in the evaluation of the medical necessity and appropriateness of requested admissions, procedures, and services for medical/surgical utilization management are proprietary criteria developed by Deloitte & Touche's integrated Health Group and distributed by the TriZetto Group Incorporated to Facets customers. The TriZetto Group Inc., is the sole owner and licensor of the system software programs and documentation comprising the Facets System. If criteria are not available in the Deloitte & Touche criteria set, the review will default secondarily to Mutual of Omaha developed criteria sets.
