Despite battling injuries in 2011, Fred was still a top contender on the Champions Tour. In 14 starts, Fred placed in the top 10 four times and was the runner-up at The ACE Group Classic. In his long career, Fred has eight PGA Tour victories, including his signature win at the 2007 Players Championship, and six titles on the Champions Tour. Before Fred joined the PGA Tour, he was the golf coach at the University of Maryland from 1982 to 1988 and is inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame.
