Investments Internships

Do you enjoy analyzing statistics, brainstorming solutions and sharing ideas? If you're an accounting or finance major in your junior or senior year of college then Mutual of Omaha has an opportunity for you as an intern in the Investments division.

Credit Risk Management
Interns work with various credit analysts to analyze financial information from company annual reports and input the data into financial spreadsheets. Credit risk interns are exposed to a variety of domestic, foreign, public and private companies from many different industries and varying accounting standards. Interns will use the online service, Bloomberg, and others to revise and update spreadsheets and charts.

Structured Securities Risk Management
Under the direction of the Risk Manager and/or the Analyst, the intern tracks the operating performance of asset-backed securities (ABS) in various investments portfolios. In addition, the intern communicates with various outside parties regarding current ABS investments to research and evaluate issues for both current and potential ABS investments. The intern will use the online service, Bloomberg, and others to revise and update spreadsheets and charts.

Internship qualifications:

  • 3.25 GPA or higher
  • Accounting or finance major, with course work in intermediate accounting, corporate finance, investments, principles of economics and money and banking
  • Junior status preferred

Length of internship: 13 months starting in April and extending through to the following May.
Hours per week: 20 hours per week during the school year and full-time (38.75 hours per week) over the summer months.
Compensation: Competitive
