Mutual of Omaha - Home Office Benefits

Health and Dental Insurance

You can choose from several health care coverage options on our program. Each option includes major medical coverage for most hospital and physician services. You'll also receive prescription drug coverage and vision discounts for eyewear and services at participating vendors. Our dental plans have you covered from your routine cleaning and check up to the less-pleasant major dental work and orthodontics.

Life Insurance

You'd expect a company that sells life insurance to take care of its employees and we do. From the day you start, you'll receive life insurance coverage with a benefit equal to your salary – at no cost to you! You can also purchase life insurance for your spouse and children and additional coverage for yourself.

Long-Term Disability

As a Mutual of Omaha associate, you'll automatically receive long-term disability coverage that replaces 60 percent of your monthly pay after a waiting period if you're disabled and can't work. You can purchase an additional 10 percent of coverage.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)

With accidental death and dismemberment insurance, you and your eligible dependents can receive a benefit if you suffer certain losses or die as the result of a covered accident. Mutual of Omaha provides employees with $25,000 in basic AD&D coverage and employees can purchase additional coverage. It's just a little more peace of mind.

401(k) Long-Term Savings Plan

Our generous plan helps you save for the high costs of retirement. For every dollar you contribute up to 5 percent of your yearly income, we'll contribute another dollar - doubling your savings. You're eligible to participate after two weeks of employment and are fully vested in the program after only three years of service.

Reimbursement Accounts

Self-funded reimbursement accounts help you increase your spendable income and reduce your tax burden by paying eligible out-of-pocket medical and dependent daycare expenses with before-tax dollars.

Vacation and Personal Time

So, how much vacation time do you get at Mutual of Omaha? Under our program, you accrue time regularly. New employees begin accruing vacation time on the first of the month following 14 days of service at a rate equivalent to two weeks (10 days) per year. You’ll accrue time at a higher rate after you’ve reached certain service milestones. Full-time employees also receive five personal days each year. Part-time employees earn vacation and personal time off based on the number of hours they are scheduled to work.

Paid Holidays

Our paid holidays include: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The company also designates two floating holidays each year.

Tuition Reimbursement Program

We know the value of continuing education and will help you get your associate's, bachelor's or master's degree or participate in other approved educational courses. For employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week, we reimburse up to 100 percent (up to $150 per credit hour) of tuition costs for approved courses completed with a grade of "C" or better.
