Omaha, Neb. – (April 13, 2007) Golf Digest magazine has selected Mutual of Omaha as the corporate recipient of its 2007 Junior Development Award for the company’s sponsorship of Mutual of Omaha’s Drive, Chip and Putt competition.
Thousands of kids each year participate in Mutual of Omaha’s Drive, Chip and Putt, a free golf skills competition for kids aged 7-14 that is presented by the Golf Channel. Drive, Chip and Putt competitions are held in nearly 100 cities each year, with winners in each age group advancing to regional competitions and a national championship held annually in Orlando, Fla.
Golf Digest’s Junior Development Awards, highlighted in the May 2007 issue, honor a corporation, individual, club, municipality and association that encourage kids to take up the game. The awards have been given annually since 1984.
