Omaha, Neb. – (April 2, 2013) Volunteers are crucial to the success of nonprofit organizations helping those in need throughout the community. To lend a hand, Mutual of Omaha designates September as National Month of Caring among its employees.
Mutual of Omaha will accept applications through April 30 from organizations in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area to be considered as volunteer project recipients for the company’s fourth annual National Month of Caring, which will take place in September 2013. Additionally, approved organizations may qualify for a grant of up to $1,000. Interested organizations should visit www.mutualofomaha.com/nationalmonth to apply and get more information.
About National Month of Caring
During National Month of Caring, Mutual of Omaha will encourage all employees across the country to step out of the office and spend time volunteering with a nonprofit organization in their community. Each employee has the opportunity to take four hours of paid time for this volunteer effort. Last year, more than 1,300 employees and agents (1,000 from the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area) volunteered nearly 6,000 hours in 33 communities across the country. In addition, $50,000 in grants were awarded to the participating organizations.
