Omaha, Neb. – (February 1, 2012) In its continuing effort to support Omaha's neighborhoods, Mutual of Omaha is offering local neighborhood associations an opportunity to receive funding through the company's Neighborhood Grant Program.
Throughout the months of February and March, eligible neighborhood associations are invited to apply for grants to fund projects that strengthen resident participation and promote neighborhood development within one of the following categories:
- Beautification/Identity
- Crime Prevention/Safety
- Education
- Health and Wellness
- Parks and Recreation
- Restoration
"We believe that strong neighborhoods are vital to the health of our community and we're excited to once again offer neighborhood groups the opportunity to receive funding through our Neighborhood Grant Program," said Christine Johnson, president of the Mutual of Omaha Foundation.
The maximum grant request is $2,500. Neighborhood organizations in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metropolitan area are eligible to apply online at http://www.mutualofomaha.com/about/company/community-support/outreach-programs.php. Grant applications are due by Saturday, March 31. Applicants will be notified the first week of June.
