Mutual of Omaha Provides Funding for Neighborhood Projects

Omaha, Neb. – (June 15, 2010) Graffiti is something many Omaha neighborhoods are forced to contend with. While prevention is ideal, reaction to tagging incidents and prompt removal of graffiti is something that still must happen. The South Omaha Neighborhood Alliance (SONA) works quickly to clean up graffiti in the neighborhoods they serve. Thanks to a $2,500 neighborhood grant from Mutual of Omaha, SONA will purchase additional graffiti kits to help keep this type of vandalism out of their neighborhoods.

The grant is one of 12 that Mutual of Omaha is providing to local neighborhood organizations as part of its Neighborhood Grant Program, which aims to improve the quality of life in Omaha's neighborhoods. This year, the company awarded a total of $34,873.50.

"We congratulate our 12 grant recipients for their creative and diverse programs that will ultimately help build a stronger community," said Christine Johnson, president of the Mutual of Omaha Foundation.
