Mutual of Omaha Expands Professional Golf Sponsorship

OMAHA, Neb., February 15, 2011 – Mutual of Omaha has expanded its sponsorship presence in professional golf, adding two athletes to its team of professional golfers.

Henrik Stenson will represent Mutual of Omaha on the PGA Tour and Roberto Castro will represent the company on the Nationwide Tour.

Swedish-born Stenson plays on both U.S. and European Tours. Stenson won The Players Championship in 2009 with a dominating final round score of 66. The win was his first American stroke play victory and brought him to fifth in the Official World Golf Rankings. In 2010, he finished ninth in money and tied for first in the Tavistock Cup and finished the British Open Championship tied for third with Greg Norman.

Four-time All-American at Georgia Tech, Castro received the NCAA Top VIII Award, which is given annually to eight athletes across all divisions and sports. He is only the second golfer to receive the award. Castro finished 62nd on the 2010 Nationwide Tour Money List playing in 12 events. He ranks third in scoring average and second in birdies, and has been named by as one of the top 10 players to watch on the Tour in 2011.
