Reach for Your Dreams

A Visual Arts Initiative in Celebration of the Olympic Spirit

In the summer of 2008, the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials visited Omaha, Neb., where some of the country's brightest young athletes competed to achieve their Olympic dream. Inspired by their hard work, determination and focus, Mutual of Omaha decided to encourage Omaha-area youth to pursue dreams of their own.

Working with the Nebraska Arts Council, professional artists were matched with three community organizations – Camp Fire USA, Girls Inc. and the Hope Center for Kids. Together, they worked to create original pieces of art that represent the goals and aspirations of tomorrow's champions.

Each piece of artwork was displayed for fans to see at the Olympic Trials. Following the event, the artwork was purchased by Mutual of Omaha and donated back to the community partners, where it is permanently displayed to remind youth to continue reaching for their dreams.
