For the many nonprofit organizations serving those in need or addressing critical issues facing communities, volunteers are essential to realizing their extraordinary visions. To lend a hand, Mutual of Omaha has designated September as National Month of Caring.
Each September, the company encourages all employees across the country to spend time volunteering with a nonprofit organization in their community. Employees have the opportunity to take four hours of paid time to volunteer. Since the project began in 2010, nearly 30 percent of Mutual’s associates have participated each year.
National Month of Caring projects range from construction and landscaping at various nonprofit facilities to sorting and organizing donations from the community.
Are you an organization in the Omaha/Council Bluffs metro area that would like to be considered for a volunteer project during the 2013 National Month of Caring effort?
